This piece is composed of 9 1/2" by 9 1/2" red, semi-transparent to opaque glass created in a process of fusing strips at 1400° to a full fuse. The process draws the glass to a uniform thickness, causing "holes" to form. It is then formed over a ceramic mold in a second kiln firing to create gentle curves around the edges.
